Even more often it will be to comply with an ISO standard. Three standards make these demands the most: the ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and the ISO 45001. The ISO 9001 standard, also called the quality standard, sets requirements for an organization’s quality management system.

For example, they must demonstrate that they are able to consistently deliver products and services that meet customer requirements and applicable laws and regulations. It also aims to increase customer satisfaction by improving systems as well as ensuring compliance with customer requirements and with requirements from applicable laws and regulations.

The ISO 14001 standard, also known as the environmental standard, specifies the requirements of an environmental management system that an organization can use to improve its environmental performance. This international standard is intended for use by an organization that wishes to manage its environmental responsibilities in a systematic way and that contributes to the environmental pillar of sustainability. This international standard helps an organization achieve the intended results of its environmental management system, which are valuable for the environment, the organization itself and stakeholders. In accordance with the organisation’s environmental policy, the intended results of an environmental management system include: – improving environmental performance; – compliance with compliance obligations; – the achievement of environmental objectives. This international standard applies to any organization, regardless of size, type and nature, and applies to the environmental aspects of its activities, products and services that the organization determines can control or influence based on a life cycle perspective.

This international standard does not set specific criteria for environmental performance. This international standard can be used in whole or in part to systematically improve environmental management. The ISO 45001 standard stands for ‘Management systems for healthy and safe working – Requirements with guidelines for use’ and is a tool for systematically fulfilling the legal obligation for employers to ensure the safety and health of employees and to pursue a policy aimed at achieving the best possible and safe working conditions.
